Offered for sale is a vintage sterling silver mechanical charm featuring a miniature perfume bottle housed within a hinged carrying case. Opening the front latch activates the spring-loaded mechanism causing the bottle to rise automatically. The charm is marked STERLING and weighs approximately 1.9 grams. The bottle has a black collar and domed silver stopper. A wonderful example of the whimsical mechanical charms popular during the 1940s and 1950s. The mechanism functions properly and the charm remains in very nice vintage condition. This charm was obtain from an estate auction in suburban Philadelphia. One of those unusual pieces that a mechanical charm collector would immediately appreciate.
